What is Veltam Plus ?

Veltam plus Tablet is an Alpha-adrenoreceptor antagonist which is used in men to decrease the urine outflow resistance due to an enlarged prostate gland. How Veltam Plus Tablet works

Veltam Plus Tablet  is a combination of two medicines: Tamsulosin and Dutasteride which relieve the symptoms of benign prostatic hyperplasia. Tamsulosin is an alpha-blocker. It works by relaxing muscle around the bladder exit and prostate gland so urine is passed more easily. Dutasteride is a 5-alpha-reductase inhibitor which helps in shrinking the prostate by decreasing the level of a hormone that causes the prostate to grow.

For how long to take it?

Treatment for 6 months may be required. Take the drug as long as prescribed by your doctor. Ask your doctor about the time period for which the drug must be taken. Use the tablets every day continuously until your doctor tells you to discontinue.  If you cease taking the drug for some reason, inform your doctor before starting it again as you may need a different dose than before.

Pregnancy - This medicine is not recommended for use in pregnant women.

Hypotension - Veltam plus Tablet may lower the blood pressure and may cause dizziness, weakness. It is advised to sit or lie down until the symptoms disappear. Inform the doctor if the symptoms worsen.
Cataract surgery - Veltam plusTablet is not recommended in patients scheduled for cataract surgery due to the risk of developing Intraoperative Floppy Iris Syndrome (IFIS).
